JOE BENNET

Joe is a writer from the Midlands. A published poet and spoken word artist, he is currently developing his first full-length play as part of the Young Vic Creator’s Programme. Specialising in Comedy, Drama, High-Genre and LGBTQIA+ storytelling (with a love for anything horror-adjacent), Joe pulls heavily from his experiences as a Queer and Neurodivergent individual to bring a deftness and unique honesty to his writing. He has written three episodes of Ready, Eddie, Go!, an animated series for Sky Studios and Hocus Pocus under lead writer Joseph Morpurgo and provided additional material for Netflix's Bad Dinosaurs alongside BAFTA-winning writer Natt Tapley and Academy Award Nominated director Simone Giampaolo. In 2022, he was shortlisted for Writing West Midlands 'Room 204', BBC Open Call, and BBC Writer's Academy.
